The luxemburgish bassist Marc Demuth and the Portuguese singer Sofia Ribeiro have been developing an intense musical complicity since they first met 3 years ago in Barcelona. They were starting various musical projects which performed in Spain, Portugal and Luxembourg before focusing on their duo double bass / voice which released its first CD "Dança da Solidão" in January 2006 and was presented in jazz clubs and festivals all over Europe.

At the same time Marc Demuth and Sofia Ribeiro are dedicating to another project; the Marc Demuth 4tet featuring Sofia Ribeiro. This international 4tet with Pascal Schumacher (Luxembourg) on the vibraphone, Yves Peeters (Belgium) on the drums and Joachim Badenhorst (Belgium) on the clarinet and bass-clarinet has been very active performing in various European countries as well as the United States.



After two years of working and performing intensively together their debut album ORIK was released in 2007 and presented in Portugal and Spain on a tour in January 07. The very uncommon instrumentation mixing the clarinets with the voice and the sounds of the vibraphone made this band explore new paths and colors while mixing original compositions of Marc Demuth and Sofia Ribeiro with some arrangements of Brazilian standards.
